Mid-Mile Planning System

The problem

First mile and last mile get the attention; the middle leg is where the cost sits. Cars have to move between refurbishment centres and distribution hubs in whole truckloads, across markets, and a plan that looks fine on a spreadsheet fails the moment a hub is full or a truck is half empty.

What I built

• Built planning for the mid-mile leg specifically, rather than treating it as a gap between first and last mile.
• Planned at truckload level across refurbishment centres and distribution hubs.
• Fitted it to the wider first-mile / mid-mile / last-mile chain being stood up across Germany, France and Spain.
